Python Software Engineer - Hybrid

This cutting-edge proprietary trading hedge fund are seeking a professional Python Software Engineer to join an existing trading desk and specifically work within their mid-frequency trading systems in their collaborative Sydney office. With 4 locations globally you will assist in adding to their diversified portfolio of trading strategies which are trader and technology driven.

The right candidate in this role will successfully design, build and maintain trading system components whilst monitoring, supporting and maintaining existing systems and infrastructures. You will have solid technical skills and apply modern DevOps paradigms to enhance operational capabilities whilst documenting internal operational procedures and contributing to the continuous refinement of the desk systems.

Requirements:

• Prior trading house experience
• 2+ years in Python software development in a trading environment
• Experience with real time, Linux systems
• Genuine interest in finance and trading, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• B.Sc. Computer Science or other engineering disciplines

With the aim to continually improve themselves to continue to keep themselves ahead of the game, you will have the opportunity to join a team in which ideas are shared openly between software engineers, as well as quantitative traders and researchers. In this role you will be responsible for a variety of areas such as real time, live trading, historical back testing, data processing pipelines and research. As the codebase is mainly Python, prior experience in this across both Windows and Linux systems are key, with some fundamental components also written in C++.
